Goldcar leads the holiday car hire industry in Spain with 20% market share and growth of 15%

Goldcar Rental, a market leading car hire company, announced an ambitious international expansion plan in which, in the first phase, includes the opening of nine offices, four in Italy (Olbia, Venice, Palermo and Milan), three in France (Marseille, Bordeaux and Nice) and three in Greece (one in Athens and two on the island of Crete). This new phase of business expansion has required an investment of 31 million euros and with completion expected in June, making Goldcar in one of the largest car hire concerns on the Mediterranean.

Goldcar began in 1985. Since then, the company has been an increasing influence with a market share in holiday car hire in Spain of more than 20%. The annual rate of growth in the period 2006-2014 Goldcar was 15%. A remarkable increase that is based largely on the confidence of foreign tourists, the major of Goldcar clients, which generate more than 80% of the turnover of the company. Explains Juan Carlos Azcona, CEO of Goldcar, "The commitment to innovation and customer care has made Goldcar a benchmark in the European market for car hire. It is proud to further expand the range of the company with these new openings and support, as far as possible, the development of tourism and mobility in the Mediterranean countries.

We are especially excited about the openings in France and Greece for their great potential for growth. " oldcar´s new offices are in addition to the 53 that the company already has operating in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Malta, Andorra and Morocco, with a total workforce of nearly 700 employees and a fleet of over 40,000 vehicles. The expansion plan of the company has been strengthened with significant optimisation of their websites, in the different countries in which it operates, by adding new features and user transparency when making bookings.
